  1. Gently floss teeth to dislodge any food particles trapped between teeth.
  2. If you have prolonged and severe tooth pain, you can take pain killers for immediate relief but only after consulting your dentist.
  3. Talk to your dentist before applying any antiseptic creams to the affected area.
  4. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to get some relief from tooth pain.
  5. If the toothache is caused by trauma to the tooth, you can apply a cold compress over the cheek.
  6. Avoid eating hot, cold, hard or sweet foods/drinks if you are suffering from tooth pain until you visit your dentist.
  7. Don’t place any painkiller gels/pastes directly on your infected gums because it may cause chemical burns of gum tissues.
  8. Never give medicine to children without consulting your dentist.
  9. Never use more than recommended dose of antiseptic/antibiotics for your tooth pain as it may cause severe adverse effects.
