In this appointment, your dentist will assess your oral health and discuss your medical history.  Your dentist will evaluate areas of your mouth where teeth are missing. Your dentist will also examine the amount of bone available as this is important to support the placement of dental implants. Evaluation of quality and density of bone in your jaw is very essential. For this evaluation, 3D CT scan will be taken. Apart from the above evaluation, impressions of your teeth will be taken which will help your dentist to exactly understand your case and create an ideal treatment plan for you.

If all your teeth are missing, you may be scheduled for another consultation to determine if you need additional procedures to obtain the desired function. In some cases when you have lost a significant amount of bone, your dentist may recommend grafting procedures to increase the bone density. Your first appointment may take 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the case.
